The curve of the hills, shape of the rocks, light through the trees, the smell of the dirt and leaves, sound of geese and wind chimes and passing cars... everything feels in balance when I am home. I don't live far from this place where I grew up, but something in my soul is so tied to this very particular little scrap of earth. Regardless of how long I am away or how far I travel, this is where everything is right, not better or worse... just as it should be.
That last photo is also so...right! Nothing is ever as perfect as home. Funny we don't realise it until we've left it. x ashley
ReplyDeleteYes! That is also so true, I only started to appreciate it when I knew I was leaving... hindsight right?
DeleteSo lovely!!
ReplyDeleteThat second photo is stunning, but I love the last one of the silhouette of you and the pram...
ReplyDeleteIt must be nice to go back, and reconnect, and remember...

Where you grew up looks beautiful. And I can totally relate as SLC (and Utah) are the same for me. Not better or worse... just as it should be. : )
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful and it looks like an amazing place. It's these special memories - places that we love - that carves wonderful marks on our soul.

Beautiful! I love the first photo! I personally would like to never go back home but I can see how a place like this would hold your heart. Lucky woman!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty there! I feel the same way about where I grew up- and I feel "home" when I go back and visit. You're very lucky it's not far away for you.
ReplyDeleteI can see why you feel this way! I actually sighed when I saw these pictures! Gorgeous place.
ReplyDeleteI am lucky to live out in the country, very close to where I grew up, and I have lived there so long that I know every inch of the place - it is a good feeling!

such dreamy photos, especially that last one x
ReplyDeleteMore lovely photos! I am very tied to the place I grew up too. I never feel quite at home where we are now.
ReplyDeleteWow that place looks so rejuvenating. Like you can simply exhale your worries and inhale peace.
