After two years of staring at the rear seat cushion, Little Smith has been liberated. It's a whole new world of cars and trucks and trees, and a great view of mama and dada. The first time he tried it, he loved it and smiled the whole trip (but I didn't have the camera). This is his second ride, and he was tired. I'd be tired too if I woke up at 4:30AM for no good reason on a Sunday... oh that's right, I did wake up at 4:30AM. Luckily, he had a little more leg room and stretched out to take a snooze. He's a natural with this forward facing bit.
(oh, and he's usually behind the passenger side, I just wanted to have a clear view for our first couple voyages).
I remember when we 'flipped'...another little milestone! So cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm counting down the days to being able to turn Sage's seat forward. The 1 year mark is standard protocol here is Australia. I think she will love it, just as sweet Little Smith does! x
ReplyDeleteSweet, I remember that as well. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe switched to front facing at one, and our baby girl's first front facing ride was 600 miles in a UHAUL. She was so good! It's amazing how much less constrained they feel in the "big kid" carseat. Oh, sweet liberation!
ReplyDeleteHaha my boy also loves to look outside the window when we're driving. Your son must be enjoying his car rides now! ;)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!! Another milestone successfully managed~*
ReplyDeleteCutie. He looks very pleased with his new views!
ReplyDeleteOh, isn't that the BEST?
ReplyDeleteSuch a happy milestone.
All mine have loved this moment when the world is moving forwards instead of a backwards view. 4.30am - phew...those days do pass, thankfully.

Train, truck, and construction site spotting is still the fave backseat pastime for our boys! Congrats, Little S. ;)

Congrats to your boy! I used to hate when the kids had to face backwards. I usually sat with them (which is no fun either - I have long legs). :)
ReplyDeleteSo many things that seem so long ago for me! How sweet–and falling asleep in the carseat. Eep!
ReplyDeleteYou will be reliving them all soon enough! :)
DeleteSoooo cuuuuuute....is what I think every single time I see that little guy. THOSE EYES. And where's the silly little tongue he likes to stick out. What a kid!
ReplyDeleteHe does almost always have that tongue out! Here he is very serious, so the tongue is taking a rare break :)
DeleteAw, that sleepy little guy! I'm sure he is loving the new view. I like his carseat cover, too!
ReplyDeleteThere's so much to see! Haha, but he looks a little like, "Stop it ma. This is old news now. Been there, done that..." They grow so fast!
ReplyDeleteHe looks very comfortable there... Big boy! :)
ReplyDeletewe had to switch early on because olive would just screeeeeeeeeeam when we put her in the capsule -- she HATED being backwards! and the first time we put the new seat in and she faced the other way, she was so happy (and so was i!) ...even though i wanted for her safety, to keep her rear-facing.
ReplyDeletelove the cover on his car seat...that's too cool!
Yeah! That's a huge milestone! We waited until Audrey was almost 2 1/2 to turn her seat around because she is so small and doesn't weigh very much. And when we finally did, she could see the cars coming at us in the other lane and said, "Whoa, whoa whoaaaaaaa. TRUCK!"
