This week he: saw lots of birds and announced 'it's spring!' / helped clean up our garden and unearthed his forgotten digger / was so excited to sleep right on the ocean and be 'blown out to sea' / climbed a giant sand mountain and got soaked in the waves / got ice cream two days in a row / helped make mini muffins for school (and ate a lot of the apple pieces in the process) / was stunned and maybe even thrilled to wake up to fresh snow, 'it's not spring!'

This week she: grew a tooth, wow! / really really really struggled with sleep (did I mention she is not the best sleeper?) / loved watching the ocean through the sliding glass door / fell asleep on daddy's shoulder while we were walking around town (she doesn't sleep well, but she sure is cute when she makes it happen) / thought about crawling... okay I made that one up, honestly I'm not so sure she wants to crawl!

  1. finn's such an amazing day sleeper (and after olive who was a SHOCKING day sleeper it's such a blessing) but not so great at night. he still has a feed before midnight and then another around 4.30am....but then usually sleeps through til about 7am. so if you count the feed before midnight he's usually up twice. which is totally different to olive because she was an AWESOME night sleeper (from very early on)....but they've ended up with the same amount of sleep in total. how often is ruby up during the night?

    1. Oh man, sadly the question is more how often is she NOT up during the night. My past experience with sleep is more like you are describing, a few night wakings on a fairly predictable schedule that eventually tapered off to sleeping through the night. She isn't like that, she's all over the place. She wakes up a lot and won't go back in her crib even after being fed or rocked. We've tried some of letting her cry, nothing seems to work except letting her sleep with us (and even then she is up crying between 3 and 4). Oh, and she is ready to start each day at 5am. No joke! So Finn's few night wakings seem a dream to me :)

  3. it's always interesting to read what Ruby is doing, since my daughter was born the day before her! it's like confronted with a friend! so Alma... no teeth, no crawling ( i hope she's thinking about it!) and getting a little bit better with sleep (at least during the night!)
    your kids are adorable!

    1. Glad to hear Alma is sleeping better, hoping that comes our way! Actually, my son was a full 15 months before he got his first tooth (crazy late), so I was very surprised to see that new pearly white ;)
