a portrait of my child once a week, every week, in 2013
The hair. So many people want these locks trimmed, but I just can't... not yet. I don't really have a good reason, except that his hair is still baby fine and not one of those thick manes that lends itself to a crisp bowl cut... and more importantly, this is still the hair that he was born with. Sure most of it rubbed out at some point, but I am certain one end of one tiny wisp has been with us since the start. How can I just lop that off?! And yes it does get in his eyes, and yes I don't comb it as diligently as I should... but why should a messy face full of hair be a privilege reserved for girls? He's already learned to brush it off his forehead (a move that always makes him look like a teenager), and I love how the new humidity is introducing little curls. Some day a haircut will find us, but not today!
Totally feel you on this one! My son had bright blonde curls & looked like an angel. I held off cutting it until he was going to preschool & wanted a big boy haircut!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! I love long hair on boys. Oliver's is absolutely out of control, but you know what? He's the kid most people talk about! ;) I love Wyatt's hair!
ReplyDeleteAaawwww your boy is adorable. Love his eyes.
ReplyDeleteso so so sweet. it always took me forever and a day to trim my boys' hair for the first time. It makes them too grown up, that first hair cut does. xo
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Love the hair! :)
ReplyDeleteYou take as long as you like! I was the same with my boy. Even now I prefer longer hair, but shorter happens to suit him better.
ReplyDeleteI am totally with you. I reckon our Jamie and our Angus look better with longer hair too...
ReplyDeleteHe is so very adorable and handsome!

oh I understand that predicament! such wonderful big eyes you've captured in this image x
ReplyDeleteOhh my, the thought of those hairs being there since birth. I don't blame you for not being able to cut them down. I think his hair is amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't cut it! Such gorgeous hair. But then I am the same as you, I cannot bring myself to cut my son's hair, though unfortunately for him it sits in a mullet and not in beautiful waves like your son has
