rolling knitting (slowest blanket ever) in afternoon light at play waiting... with a big book acrobat halloween costume in the works! food please fire dying down
We did it! I was determined to have a good week and I think we succeeded. We packed it in; made trips to the park and garden and library, crossed off car repairs and laundry from our to-do list, read and snuggled by the fire, and even managed the occasional nap- although those are still far too short for comfort. I'm also getting into the swing of teaching my class Tuesday night's and having to be coherent late into the evening, I'm so exhausted that I'm actually finally getting some sleep too which is long overdue. The cool air may also be helping.
Today it's raining and my enthusiasm for staying busy and up-beat is waning a bit, but luckily it's Friday so I kept up the steam just long enough! This week-end will be about projects around the house, getting together with some friends, and indulging in my favorite Shipyard Pumpkin beer... it's seriously the best. Happy week-end.
Yay for sleep! And yay for pumpkin beer... pumpkin anything, really!
ReplyDeleteI am really addicted to your Details posts. Such a great glimpse into your daily life. Hope you have a great weekend, Lilly!
I love this post. It has such a fall-y feel to it! I feel you on the losing steam bit today. It's so rainy! And cold! I want warm socks and tea and a book...and so that's what I'm having! Can't wait to see that costume!
ReplyDeleteGreatcozy pics, love his sweater too! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove that Shipyard beer. So delicious.
ReplyDeleteI'm flying solo this weekend as my husband has to take a last-minute trip to help with some family things. It's our first weekend ALONE together! Alice and me, that is.
Maybe I should go pick up some of that beer! With no extra set of hands around all weekend, I may need it! ;-)
It's somehow so much harder to baby wrangle alone on the weekends (at least for me!). Hope you made it through and survived the rain.
DeleteThat 2nd to the last pic is priceless-- you can almost glimpse what he's going to look like as a young man! So glad you made it through a busy & productive week {& glad to know you are getting in the swing with your class-- its so hard to get in the rhythm of it! I still haven't graded all my papers lol}
ReplyDeleteOooohh I like your dress! I am SO ready for tights and boot weather!
ReplyDeleteI love these Details posts. Beautiful glimpses into your day to day. Huzzah for a good week punctuated with pumpkin beer! These photos seem so fall-y. I love it! Tights, Halloween costumes, reading by the fire, it's all just the best.

ReplyDeleteW's hair is getting so full! He's got proper toddler hair now instead of just baby wisps. And I'm so interested in what his Halloween costume is going to be!
i spy tights, sweaters, blankets, and a fire! i'm so jealous of your cooler weather. at least we have a breeze blowing the trees in the afternoon so i can look outside from the comfort of the a/c and pretend it's cooler outside. because the light is leaving earlier, it is a bit cooler in the house!!! (we'll have 100 plus degrees here this weekend.)
ReplyDeleteWhat are you doing to me with that fireplace pic? Argh, L.A. weather sometimes can be a downer.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great week. I like the weeks that balance outings, crossing items off the to-do list and relaxing some. I would like to read about Jane Goodall too. Another one on my reading list!
ReplyDeleteHi, a lot of compliments for your organization I'm happy to read that you were determnined to have a good w.e. Today in Milan it rained all the day too ... Beautiful photos.
