vintage gas pump, ossining ny / july 3, 2011
My aunt and uncle have a large and lovely piece of property in New York. We call it 'the farm' and I think it once was one, but it hasn't actually been farmed in a long while (at least the last 35 years that they've been there). There are a bunch of barns and tractors and this old gas pump. When I was little they used to get it serviced on a regular basis, so before heading home you could just drive on over and fill up. I thought it was the coolest thing ever, a private gas pump... right up there with a private jet!
Ha! I love it!! Now I want a private gas pump.. That is so very fancy and convenient.
ReplyDeleteSO cool! Great pic too. I grew up having a summer home in the Catskills - this reminds me of being up there :)
ReplyDeleteSo cool!! I need one of those!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool photo! I love all rustic and farm stuff, take some more picture next time you go there! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is very cool! Great picture, too.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the photo! How cool to have a private gas pump lol {& a great way to make extra cash now-a-days lol}
ReplyDeleteNot related to this post, but a while back you asked about child bike seats. We recently purchased the wee ride (weeride.com) and Levi absolutely loves it! It works great on mountain bikes. Super easy to adjust and assemble. Not sure what kind of mountain bikes you own, but my husband has a Specialized and it fit perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks! We also both have Specialized bikes and haven't been able to find anything that will work so I will definately take a look at the weeride. Hope it works 'cause I was starting to give up and considering tailers but would really prefer the seat.
DeleteWe have a trailer but just recently Levi has been hating it. He doesn't enjoy it anymore. So I found the weeride and it fits perfect. The seat goes in front of you, between the handle bars and the seat (if that makes sense). The style we have is the Kangaroo one.
DeleteThats actually pretty awesome, I can't believe it still works:-)
