rolling and reading afternoon light cat toys raspberry coffee cake beets make dirty dishes pretty the cat stealing forks another day done

It's cold and rainy here and I'm longing for some true spring weather and getting back into my sandals. We've spent more time inside than I'd hope for in the last couple days and we even still have the heat clanging away. All in all though this week has been a good one. Little Smith just gets more personality everyday and while I do miss the baby, I am so in love with this little boy.

On Wednesday we were at the park digging in the sandbox when Little S turned around and spotted a woman carrying a big pink stuffed dog (or maybe bunny?). The second he saw the toy he started laughing hysterically and pointing. I had to laugh too because, now that he mentioned it, the sight of a grown woman carrying a giant fluffy dog was pretty funny. It was our first inside joke... you kind of had to be there :)

  6. Wyatt's totally right, that is ridiculous! Hehe! I'm so happy you guys are having little moments like this. I so look forward to being able to truly verbally communicate with our little one. I am appreciating the baby-ness though as obviously I can see, it goes by so fast!

And yes, beets do make dirty dishes look nice. Hey, if there's going to be a mess it helps if it's pretty!

I repeat the sentiment, you really do look so beautiful in that last photo! A natural stunner indeed.

  7. Thanks guys... y'all are so sweet! That coffee cake was pretty insane if I do say so myself. Maybe I'll post it at some point but basically it was the rhubarb coffee cake recipe from Smitten Kitchen with frozen raspberries instead of rhubarb. Dangerously good :)
