first baby / summer 2006
Our sweet kitty girl. I desperately wanted a Siamese for as long as I can remember. My mom's friend Linda had one when I was a child, and I thought they were the coolest cats in town. I finally got my wish while in graduate school, and she quickly stole our hearts with her crazy deep meow, running in circles like a nut job, and endless snuggle/ purr sessions.
These days she has to endure some tail pulling and poking, but she also gets lots of kisses and piles of stuffed animals to nap on. Of course she does try our patience, waking up at 5AM and crying for food, scratching up the couch so often that I have become an expert in weaving the thing back together (sigh), and sleeping on my head every night... but we love her and her stinky fish breath to pieces.
She is absolutely beautiful! :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cat! We have 2 bunnies at home and our boy loves them. Hope your boy loves your new cat too :))
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you had a cat! She looks so wild and exotic.
ReplyDeleteWe do! But she is a lot older and plumper now than in this picture :)
DeleteSo pretty!! We had a siamese when I was a child-- just gorgeous, but a real diva!
ReplyDeleteYes, diva is right. Definitely a high maintenance feline!
DeleteSuch a pretty little face! It's cool how animals adapt to a baby joining the family. They're so freaked out at first, but then just slide into acceptance over the physical abuse they will endure from a small person. Ha.
ReplyDeleteBeauty!
ReplyDeleteShe's awesome and beautiful. Even when they're nut jobs it's hard not to love them.
ReplyDeleteShe sure is cute! I had a cat growing up and she was my bestie.... but now we have a nice calm old dog. The absolute best thing about her is the automatic crumb-cleaner-upper feature!
ReplyDeleteOooh I luff her!! So pretty. What is her name?
ReplyDeleteHer real name is Selkie (I'm a big 'Secret of Roan Inish' fan), but no one ever calls her that. Sadly the poor girl goes by 'kitty' for the most part :)
DeleteShe's so pretty. We had a siamese when I was growing up, and she was a tiny little thing. But she had the devil in her, let me tell you! Side note: I LOVE 'Secret of Roan Inish.'
ReplyDeleteWe had two kitty children before the boys came along and I'm sad to say that they've been completely dethroned. Like, they only live OUTside now. I know.....but I couldn't deal with how filthy they would get outside and then want to lay all over inside. The boys do love to play with them though! :)

Oooo Selkie!!! I love RI too...so much.
ReplyDeleteShe's a sexy beauty, Kitty is.
Very elegant looking cat. Amazing eyes!
ReplyDeleteWow, she is so gorgeous! I've always wanted a Siamese as well. Mine have Siamese blood (their mother was quite obviously a Siamese mix), and a bit of the temperament, and I love them to bits.
