Snowfall

The spectacle of snow, that sudden shift in light and transformation of every surface, it's nothing short of magic. Winter is unmercifully abrupt in comparison to the other season's with its entrance. I saw it today through the eyes of my toddler, who doesn't remember that he has met snow before. It was thrilling and terrifying all at once. Those wheels were spinning.

It comes with new hassles; stroller soaked, groceries wet, fingers and toes frozen, noses running... it will all get very old very soon, winter is too long here in New England. But tonight it's just the joy of a new season and a fresh snowfall.

  3. Oh my those eyelashes! Having never had to deal with the day to day workings of a snowy Winter we can often get all romantic about it. I never really thought about the logistics of it...particularly with little ones. Looks so beautiful though. Starting to warm up here in Australia...preparing for another long, hot summer. WIshing you a beautiful week

  7. Oh blimey - I see what you mean about it turning Winter like. I know there has been some snowfall in parts of the UK, but we live on the east coast and it has to get mighty chilly - like below minus and then some - for it to snow here.

I do keep my fingers crossed every year though.

  12. Wow! I can't believe you have snow already, but that really helps remind me how different the climates are around our country. We didn't have hardly any snow at all last year, but after this crazy summer I'm worried we'll have a winter of similar extremes.

    1. I tried to get him to leave that 'monkey blanky' inside, but he insisted on taking it out! Then he was very confused when it got covered in snow- silly boy.
