I keep waiting for a slow week where I can make a dent in my back logged to-do list, but it's a busy time. Days fly by and nothing really gets done but we don't have a moment to spare. It's crazy that September is well underway, but we have been loving the cooler air and the hint of rust colored leaves.
I have been sleeping a little better this week. Not perfect but at least it's still dark out when my eyes close. It's a relief not to feel quite as exhausted when I wake up. It helps that Little Smith has been sleeping well too, it's already getting dark earlier in the evening and later in the morning... the one part of fall and winter that I really don't love, those short days.
Our garden is thinning out, fewer of everything but still plenty to enjoy. The shift is clear. I do love living in New England where each season brings something new and special. I'm excited to introduce Little Smith to fall and winter since he was too small last year to really take part. We checked out a few books that talk about the seasons from the library. My favorite so far is City Dog Country Frog by Mo Willems, any recommendations are very much welcome.
I'm looking forward to a low key week-end with a big list of chores and some good quality time with my guys. Enjoy your week-end!

ReplyDeleteYour garden is always so inspiring! Those tomatoes are gorgeous, and I am envious of your growing brussels sprouts. I hope we do that next year, because they are one of my favorite vegetables.
