babymoon camping trip, bay of fundy / august 26, 2010
As I was flipping through old photos tonight I got lost thinking about this trip from a few summers ago. We are just freshly back from a great family vacation to Martha's Vineyard which was lots of fun... but boy is it a lot more work to travel with a little monkey! True it's also far more rewarding, but I look back on this babymoon as my last 'easy-do whatever you want on a whim' trip. Sure I know there will be more in our future and right now I am definitely happy to trade some spontaneity for the world's cutest traveling companion. It's just kinda' nice to daydream a little about a time when one backpack was all we needed for ten days.
I can relate! It does get easier though.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! Sometimes when I just leave the house without a bigger purse (what I use as a diaper bag), I feel completely naked!
ReplyDeleteWe are at the point now when our oldest is taking off for those spontaneous trips & we are swapping stories about the adventures I had & the ones she is having-- it all comes full circle~*
