Another holiday is approaching and of course I look back and can't believe this was just one year ago today. We are in such a fun stage right now that I actually don't feel many of those pangs of "missing the baby", but it's just still wild how fast they learn and grow.

Whenever I see pictures like this where I am working extra hard to get a smile from the little guy and he looks thoroughly unamused (there are actually a lot of those pictures), I imagine him as a teenager rolling his eyes at his mom's antics. I'm sure those eye rolls are coming sooner than I think!

  1. Hahaha! I know, I think the same thing about the teenage years. This is such a sweet picture.

  2. Adorable! And we are in that stage where I will do the most crazy and embarrassing things to get my daughter to smile. But, as soon as she shows me that gummy grin, it was totally worth my nutty antics. ;-)

  3. I do believe you have a philosopher on your hands, given his profoundly serious demeanor & deep soulful eyes!

  6. Wow! He looks so much like himself, even at such a very young age.

Oh, heavens. The eye rolls. Julian is 8 going on 15, and there has been a lot of sass happening at our house lately. And Audrey has learned to say "whatever!" when I tell her something she doesn't like. She's two!! Goodness.

  7. That's so funny! I know, my guys will show tiny glimpses of teenagerhood every once in a while - usually certain looks in photos. Oh well, I guess that's all part of it!

  8. Love this photo! My kids started the eye rolls quite early. Depends on a kid's temperament I think. Mine are on the sarcastic side!
