Snap Crackle Pop

Happy Fourth of July! I generally like candid pictures best, but for holidays I sometimes do plan out a little card and try to get Little Smith to play along. He is a pretty good sport.. and really darn cute.

Of course what you don't see is that it was really hot out when I made him put on this sweater (which is also too snug). I really don't like to torture the kid with outfits but I couldn't resist... at first he was not happy and I thought we were going to have to throw in the towel...

... but once we ditched the chair and brought out the piano things perked up. I think he was just correcting my styling. He was so right, much better this way. :)

We are off to enjoy an extra long week-end in New York with family. I am hoping for lots of good hugs and chats, tasty food, floating in the pool (there's a pool!), and of course fireworks!

I love the Fourth of July because it's all the fun of a holiday without any of the pressure. Plus I'm a sucker for a sparkler. Hope y'all have a great celebration!

  2. HA! He is too cute. Happy fourth!! I hope you have a great trip. We're going to brave the masses tonight and try to see the fireworks here.. I'm fifty/fifty on whether or not it's going to be a pleasant experience! :)

    1. I love the Boston fireworks- you'll have a great time. We always stay on the Cambridge side, not as crowded and equally great views. Have fun!

    2. We want to visit Boston next week after we visit Cape Cod (or one day during our stay there). We have never been there before, and we don't really want to drive in the city. Where do you think we should leave the car and/or stay?

    3. Hmm- parking in Boston is an endless struggle. If you are just there for the day there are several parking garages right in the city (one actually under the Boston Common). They are expensive so I usually avoid them but it can be worth it for the convenience and it is tough to find good parking anywhere along the subway lines anyway. That's not so helpful- you can email me at projectlittlesmith@gmail.com if you have more specific questions. Have fun!
