Last Call

Last week-end we took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather to finally plant some garlic before the ground freezes up for good. We have our own plot (about 24' x 20') in a community garden nearby and we mostly plant veggies with a few flowers courtesy of my mom. Typically we have grand plans and humble results but this is our first attempt with garlic (the bulbs also thanks to my mom who serves as my expert advisor when it comes to all things that grow) so I'm actually just pleased to be giving it a try.

And while we were at it we took some sweet fall pictures of Little Smith who loves the dirt and has been getting good at helping out with the garden. He's also finally recovering (hopefully!) from being sick including his first ear infection which has been killer.

I still can't believe that December is here and it's full out Christmas mode everywhere. If I didn't love the snow so much I'd be very bummed to welcome in this insanely short and cold days. I always find this time between the leaves falling and the first real snowfall a little bleak- but soon we'll be shoveling out our cars and pushing a stroller in the snow so I guess I should enjoy it while it lasts.
